Situated in the Adilabad Dist., the Kawal Bird Sanctuary is dry deciduous and has teak forest, bamboo and miscellaneous species. It is spread over an area of around 893 sq km.

Due to its rich bio-diversity, it earned the status of a sanctuary. It is a great Indian wildlife sanctuary to visit home to the Sloth Bear, Panther, Tiger and variety of birds like Peacocks, Patridges, Quails, Vultures, Eagles, Kites, Owls, Mynas, Pigeons, Tree - pies, Kingfishers.
The best months to visit the Kawal sanctuary is from Nov-May.
